I've had similar thoughts (although I didn't read Karl Marx at twelve), and the worst thing about is that how I never realized how nice a simple life was, just that I wanted more.

I think that simplicity is so underrated, especially now. I won't pretend that I have a clue what i want out of life, but I can tell you that I've never understood the allure of all of the madness and complexity that comes with "more". I'd live in a cabin in the woods if I had a hint of common sense hahaha.
