This Doctor also has to meet Queen Liz I (from the Shakespeare episode with Martha - she did recognise *him* - unless of course they decide to do that one in a novel). PS - I'm unspoiled too - so it is all speculation. :)
Ah, yes! See, there's another reason! Good memory. :)
As a side note, I always forget about the novels. Lots of fandoms have them, and I tend to think of them as being about as canon as fanfic. (Some of them aren't even as well-written as good fic.) For me, if a fandom originates on TV, canon is what we see onscreen; if fandom originates in books, then canon is what we actually read there. (No matter how gay the author tells us the headmaster is after the fact.) *G*
PURE speculation....no knowledge whatsoeverpfeifferpackJune 29 2008, 23:22:54 UTC
Am just posting this on my LJ and thought I'd comment here too since you opened the door LOL.
YAY....speculation! Yes 10 has to stay since River Song has to meet THIS version. Maybe that hand of his that he's been carting along and they keep showing there on the Tardis console will play a part in him "regenerating" but not changing a bit???
My money is on Donna being a Time Lord with a pocketwatch ala Mr. Smith and the Master. The drums, the comment about "children of Time" in the plural from the Darlek, the hints that she is so much more than just some human companion....I am betting she is Romana but don't rule out the Master (that ring was removed as he burned.....could it have held his essence?????).
Just speculating as I said. They are so bloody brilliant I'll just follow along.

You're definitely right about Donna being more than human. (More than one character has stated as much in the last two episodes.) So I'll be interested to see where that goes.
I'm not sure how I'd feel about her being another Time Lord in disguise, but, I guess that's possible too. And even if she's not, if Dalek Caan can visit the Time War, even though it wasn't supposed to be possible, the door has certainly been opened for more Time Lords (or Ladies) to make an appearance in the future. I'd be very happy to see that.

I like the idea of seeing Romana again, but I don't know if I want to see Donna become her. (If she became Romana, she wouldn't be Donna any more, and it's Donna who is such fun to watch. *G*) But I could learn to like it if it's done well.
Also, Kathleen, I was thinking about what you said regarding the ring holding the Master's essence (kind of the way I'd like to think Ten's hand still holds his). I think you're right: he can't be gone completely. I didn't think Time Lords could pick or choose when or if they regenerated anyway -- the Seventh Doctor didn't regenerate until after he'd been dead for some time. Maybe the Master *is* still around somehow. :)
I'm feeling a lot more confident about not losing David Tennant than I was just after watching the episode (I did like Christopher Eccleston a lot but I'm unfortunately a big, huge tenth doctor fangirl)
I like the idea of Donna being more than human. I actually went back to watch the end of season three the other day and was reminded of the scene where a woman's hand goes to pick up the Master's ring. Shenanigans.
And there has been far too much emphasis on the "hand in a jar" for it to not be important. Good god, bring on next week already :{
That's a very good point. At the time I automatically assumed that was just his wife, but you're right: it could mean anything. And they can't wait too long before telling us what that was all about. (Or someone might forget - like me!)
9) Who wants to take bets that Mickey is going to save Sarah Jane? C'mon. Rose can't have been the only one to have crossed over from the other universe. Plus she's talking to somebody at "control."
OOh! I want this now.
And I don't want Donna to die, either. I wuvs Donna.

And I love Donna too. I didn't think I would, but I really did. For as much as I like Rose, I *enjoy* Donna. She made everything so much fun!
