[Writing guide series] Blast From the Past… or Present?

Jun 20, 2016 15:52

A while back, Dini (nino1711azuki) had been asking me about lots of writing advice and stuff that I had the urge to just get it in writing so she can refer back to. This may or may not be of help to you. Either way, I’m always happy to learn if you have other ideas/topics I could write about or learn from, so please leave a comment ( Read more... )

Well done. It's just that? X'D
What i've learnt from school years back, you use past tense for fable and most of the stories. Then if you'd like to write or tell-tale you need present. (I'll check my book then i'll edit this comment)
So the conclusion is it is actually fine to write whether in past or present. The point is you must 'CONSISTENT'. Okay i got it. Well then beta-san, sorry because sometimes i crossed that consistency, i knew i'm writing in present but sometimes one line is completely written in past. Hehe sorry.

So.. what's next? What about more to genre thingy?
Or you said you'd like to write about 'conversation'?
Your choice. I'll be a nice student.

Ps : Nino is still quite much older than us. We're young, his look is young 😂😆

Haha. Maybe. I've never heard that rule before. If you really think about it, all fictional stories are tall tales because they never happened in real life. That's why I don't see an issue which to use. It's just your preference on how you like the flow and the feel of your story.

When you write in present, of course there would be past actions and it's okay if a past tense sentence is there. Just be careful.

IDK about genre. You can totally just Google it. Unless you want my sarcastic version of showing you their differences. haha.
