So, I realised there was actually more to my 2019 TV viewing than Lucifer season 4 - yay!, Carnival Row - mostly yay! and Game of Thrones season 8 - yeurch!

Slight spoilers behind cut for Gentleman Jack and His Dark Materials, plus mention of a couple of other things. Also proper spoilers for Messiah, which is actually 2020.

Hi, you just reminded me of Gentlemen Jack! It alll sat on my harddrive and then my computer dies when i had just seen one episode. I have to get it again!

I'm with you. I think Gentleman Jack was great. In fact, I binge watched it again a couple months ago. I'd really be interested in hearing why your acquaintance thought it was dreadful - such a puzzling word for it.

I don't know why she didn't like it, have to say. I didn't manage to get past the shock of it. She does like horrible murder stories and things like that. Just not her cup of tea, I suppose. ;)

I’ve been meaning to check out Good Omens and Gentlemen Jack! I’m also surprised at your acquaintance when everything I’ve heard about Gentlemen Jack suggests that it’s highly critically acclaimed, so it sounds like it should be more a case of calling it not her cup of tea, rather than dismissing it as dreadful which seems very harsh

I finished S4 of The Expanse, His Dark Materials (thought the first two eps were slow, but it got better), and almost caught up with The Good Place. I've got a few things saved up to watch, but never seem to find time. I'll make time for Gentleman Jack, though.

I haven't watched season 4 of The Expanse yet. Still on my rewatch of The Americans. What did you think of it? Is it up to previous seasons' standard?
