I started HDM (the Golden Compass) last year and somehow lost the book :( I remember exactly where I left off. I need to find it and start reading it again. I loved Lyra's familiar.

Technically it means "wholemeal pillows", because it's cereal that's shaped like pillows.

I've had my copy of the first for years, but since it was a trilogy I didn't want to start on it until I was certain I had the other two. (Lest the suspense would kill me. It's happened before.) Then about a year ago there was a booksale, and I bought the second and third in the series. Then bunch of crazy stuff happened, and last night was the first time I really felt like I could really read it.

Well, what happened was that I have had times when my back have ached, but it's never been anything remotely serious. My mouth disconnected from my brain and for some reason mentioned the back ache, yet managed to make it sound like something it wasn't. But since I was so nervous I couldn't just say: "Sorry I got insane for a while, please disregard what I just said, it wasn't completely true." So I try to turn the back-thing into something that doesn't exist/matter through saying it's something that only happens roughly once a year, and only when it's cold.

This is why I seldom see myself as a people person...
