about 4 weeks ago i learned my grandmother (father's mother) has been in a nursing home for close to a year. my mother visited & gave me a better idea of what's been going on - she isn't doing well at all & mom didn't expect her to make it to thanksgiving

I really wish I could met her. The picture of her on the bookshelf really does remind me of you. She sounds like a wonderful person that was a fantastic grandmother to you. I wonder what she would have thought of me.

I wish you could have met my Tutu(grandmother in Hawaiian, although she wasn't my grandmother from Hawaii). She was a major influence on me too. Taught me how to all kinds of interesting things like knitting, crocheting, playing poker, and drinking just to name a few. I think you would have seen a lot of where I get some of "me" from had you met her.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this and take care of me at the same time. I'll try to make myself as little of a distraction as possible. :)
