I get inexplicable attachment to something like this and I loved reading about yours. But, oy, 5 mil? Maybe you should call the bank and ask if they'll sell it for 4.5 million less or so without the ghosts.
Friend of mine had a similar experience with a beautiful commercial building in their neighborhood - she's been obsessed with it for ages, now it's suddenly up for sale. It should sell for about $60k max by any sensible locally-adjusted measure but they're asking $250k. Sometimes, between stories like yours / my friend's and the things I see on eBay and Craigslist all the time, I wonder why people bother putting things up for sale if they don't really want to sell it.
I agree. People try to sell things but want way more than it's worth. How can it be sold that way? I understand the house is historic and has a story. But obviously no one wants to stay there. I do! LOL
Wow - this is such a cool dream and aspiration! I've walked by that house many times, and I very much remember your Delphine story, so it's cool to now put those two things together. And I also really enjoy knowing more about you through this post!
Thank you so much! I'm glad the Delphine story made a lasting impression. She's such an enigma to me. I wish there were more of her letters and diaries available.
I'm glad this showed more of who I am too. It's my hope and dream on a silver platter.
