How sad and utterly awful an experience! But your story gives a really good sense of who Will was and why his decision was so terribly tragic. That's not the ending you want for such a nice guy, and it never will be.

What a dreadful incident. He must have felt he had nothing else in his life to live for.

BTW, there is a pretty extraordinary typo in the paragraph that begins "One of the girls was pulling me into the bathroom by my arm".

Dear Shann -- you kindly replied to my letter, and I took the occasion to read a bit more about your life. You ARE a terrific blogger, dealing (as one must) with your present AND your past. This episode must have been a nightmare -- literally. I've been lucky in my life not to witness such tragedies -- losing friends to death, sure, but the violence was not so intimate.

Ironically, "Will" was also the name of Alysha's longtime lover on The Good Wife; he was killed in equally explicit fashion on an early-April episode. I found it very hard to watch.
