These are beautiful. I love smaller masquerade masks (though they can be all fluffy and stuff at the top, but as long as they don't cover the whole face) and for women especially (they are often more colourful). Great icons.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun compiling and making these, and I agree - I love the masks that get really elaborate at the top but leave the mouth and jaw free. It's like it gives you a hint of who's behind it, if you can ignore all the attention-grabbing stuff on the top.

Kind of like in real life.

Are you going deep on me? :P For me, I think it might have something to do with not just that it looks good (and women especially often have a beautifully shaped lower face (that sounds odd) that looks great with a mask covering their eyes) but I have a fear of full masks, just because I don't know who is behind it at all. With eyemasks, even if they have a lot of stuff going on on them, you can still see the person - as you said.
