I'm glad you sight is improving (for a value of the word).
Losing the ability to multitask sucks. I miss it too.
I don't know if these games are available for iPad, but I'm a big fan of Venice Mystery (mahjong), FlipPix Jigsaw Puzzles, and Secret Society hidden object game. They all help me with my memory and seeing patterns.
Flippix definitely is available. I have the regular puzzles but not the jigsaw ones yet. I want to finish all of these first. I had actually done them all on my Kindle then I got this and started all over which sucked cost-wise but it's not like you remember doing the puzzles.
Although I do admit I just skip to the biggest grid they have of each puzzle. I don't bother with the five and tens at all anymore. I think I have one more collection to do before I have to look for new ones to download.
I'll also have to check out those other games. We tried using adderall to help this last year but it ended up being really really bad for the anxiety problems so I had to quit, and I'd rather find a non-highly addictive drug way of helping it anyway.

Sorry I can't recommend any memory games. I mainly just play word games (Words with Friends and some Boggle-like games).
