OBGYN recommendations?

May 29, 2009 18:24

Hi there,

I have a friend that needs an OBGYN here in Austin.  Anyone got some recommendations?  Someone who is holistic, naturopathic, crunchy granola, whatever it's called these days, would be cool, but not required.

Thanks!!
Lub!

I love my GYN.
But she is no where near crunchy/granola/holistic.

Dr. Lisa Jukes 512-301-6767 (I think that's the right #)
I actually see June Kassal, Dr. Juke's nurce practioner. I love her. She listens.

i think June used to work with my ob/gyn, dr. anna marie lozano, and her partner, dr. stephanie kodack. i really liked june. she moved in the past year or two. dr. lozano is alright, but i don't get the feeling she is especially progressive/crunchy, though she is professional and straightforward, and her other nurses are cool. thumbs up for the NP, june, for sure.

By my understanding, most (all?) midwives will also do well-woman checkups, and you probably will have an easier time finding one who takes a holistic approach than you will with a traditional MD. I'd suggest you have your friend look up local midwives, and call around until she finds one who shares her approach to medicine.

This!! There are some awesome midwives in this city, and I wholly recommend looking into that option for normal well-woman care (as well as prenatal/maternity care, of course). I've been using midwives for the past 6 years and love the natural approach they take.

And I have more if you want them! :D

I love Vicki Meinhardt. She's mine. She's awesome.

And a peripheral burner.
