The Lion King 3-D

So, after much anticipation, I finally got to see The Lion King 3-D this morning... and let's just say I have never been so emotionally moved by a film in my entire life. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and several of the Harry Potter films (esp. DH: Part II) came close, but barely. I had tears in my eyes for nearly the entire film ( Read more... )

The Lion King is such an amazing film. I love finding out the ways anything like this can mean so much to a person. <3

I wish I had the money to go see it, but sadly I really don't. Especially with how much theaters around here mark up their 3-D prices. (Incidentally, that's the main the only reason I don't care for 3-D. Though I also have issues with the way my eyes focus, and the 3-D stuff can give me a headache. That, and BAD 3-D is REALLY bad sometimes, making it the opposite of immersive... It's very encouraging to hear that this one was done so well.)

The Lion King is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies, and it makes me really happy to hear how many people still love it. I also agree with you on what messages it imparts so well. And you're right about Simba and Nala's relationship. I think Shang and Mulan are the other two I always liked... they have growing respect for each other over months, not just a "you represent something in my life that's missing, I've known you for three days and am madly in love with you!"

I do kind of feel like some people think I'm nuts for loving The Lion King on such a deep level, or they just don't understand how much it means to me at all. It's nice to hear that someone sees things differently ♥ Thank you.

It's only $10? D: And you could... dare I say it... try to sneak in?? Though I suppose if you're not as obsessed as I am, it would be low on your list of priorities if you're having money troubles. I just... find a way somehow >__>; Which basically means I max out my credit cards, sell random items, or borrow money temporarily

I am pleased that it is still so loved. There really isn't much merchandise for it any more, which does annoy me, since people WOULD buy it... ;-; And when there is merch, Disney always uses the same old recycled clip art. Though I suppose I should be happy there are still several Lion King shows throughout the Disney parks and the broadway musical is still running :'D

Yeah, Shang and Mulan was also done well. Even by the end of the movie, they only had an interest in each other... no ( ... )

$17?! CHRISTERS. I do still take advantage of student discounts, so I can see 3D flicks in some theaters for $10 (it's about $7-$8 for regular). It's more for IMAX, and D-BOX was $19 (at the closests theater that has it, anyway). I do believe it's showing in 2D, if that makes any difference... it really is worth it to go if you're a fan, or have any nostalgia about it ( ... )
