I guess I hadn't quite thought about it that way. I considered the fact that getting official documents would be a huge hassle, but it never really occurred to me that their gender wouldn't be recognized by the legal system. Clearly, I live in a cave. LOL.

See, I just don't understand why they tried to get married in Virginia, of all places. Of course they're going to be bass-ackwards about this sort of thing. :/
