It's interesting to me, the dynamics of any fandom on the interent, to clarify. At writerverse there is currently a debate about what fanworks based off other original works should be classed as. And you are one of my favourite people. This is articulate and eloquent, and I basically spent the entire time reading it going, 'THIS!'

Ugh, I should know better than to be suprised by people's asshattery, but I always am. I'm just too idealistic, I guess.

My Dad taught me that phrases. Put it in a note to get me out of class one time. I never used it.

Thank you, lovely. You're one of my favourite people too. I'm glad you found it eloquent. I thought it just came off as angry. ;)

People are ridiculous. I know this, but at the same time I expect a level of basic decency (spellling?) that this lot can't manage.

I don't understand how anyone can see mocking an author where anyone can see, with links no less, is acceptable.Some people are morons and this sort of thing goes on everywhere, even GoodReads when it comes to indie authors and their works. A good friend of mine who although no longer does fanfiction and focuses on original works now (and has published several novels) has been harassed in this manner- from both folks over at FanHistory for her fanworks and GoodReads for her original works. I don't feel any guilt because I know my characters are just that. Characters. Based off real people, but no more real than any fictional character is.
