I've been party to several conversations about science and religion. When someone makes a connection between science and religion they know little about one or the other, or both (don't think that it's always religious people knowing too little about science!). That little amount is more dangerous than it is helpful. Always, the statement made

I think each "side" can know its limitations; science cannot explain everything, but neither can religion.
I don't have particularly religious views, but I do see a spiritual side to things that is supported by science.

Besides that, I think it's perfectly feasible that scientists be atheists if they so choose (or discover), but I happen to live the life of a scientist & monotheist (sudo-pantheist).
Lastly, I believe that science is fully explained by my own religion views, but not vice versa. Science, to me, can't fully explain the universe within the confines of science and the human mind.
