Sam knew children grew up fast-Annabelle’s wedding had driven that point home. It still came as a shock to him though when just a year after Annabelle’s wedding his son had graduated from high school and was now eighteen.

If he was a normal parent with a normal son Sam wouldn’t be as nervous about his son growing up. Instead of going to college like his best friend, James Lennox, Alex wanted nothing more than to join his parents and the Autobots in fighting Decepticons.

Granted, all of the children raised with the Autobots who served as their friends and guardians were going into fields that they planned to use in the struggle.

Annabelle was already in the air force, working as a mechanic for their planes while James had been accepted into pre-med, planning on becoming a field medic for NEST. Lily and Logan were in their senior year of high school and Lily was dealing with computer technology and how to further connect and recognize Cybertronian technology. Logan was set on becoming a lawyer for representation, especially concerning interactions with the Autobots.

Steelshadow was already fully entrenched in Decepticon fighting due to being Ironhide’s son. Mirari had declared herself as Ratchet’s apprentice and spent most of her time following the chartreuse medic and mimicking anything he did.

But none of the children save for Steel would be as close to the danger as Alex.

So it was his son’s decision to fight that led to this moment, with Thunderstreak standing proudly in front of Optimus Prime and speaking his oath to follow the Autobots’ ways and to respect his fellow comrades and his Prime as leader.

The day before Sam had asked Thunder if he really wanted to make this decision, and his son’s answer shocked him.

“Daddy, Starscream nearly took you and Mirari from us. I want to make sure that never happens again.”

Sam had shuddered at the reminder of the horrifying event. Just two weeks previous Starscream, who had discovered Sam and his children’s ability to have hybrid sparks, had somehow managed to infiltrate the Autobots’ base and nearly escaped with Sam and Mirari clutched in his talons.

It was only due to the quick thinking of Steelshadow, who picked up and flung Thunderstreak to intercept and bare the jet back to the ground that saved Sam and his daughter from a terrible fate.

Starscream had taken the opportunity to escape while the Autobots concerned themselves with making sure Sam and his daughter were safe and secure. The others, especially Optimus and Bee had been beside themselves with guilt for having so easily accepted the fragile peace and forgotten that enemies were still in existence.

But now, Sam was only worried about his son. Cybertronians were not immortal and Sam visibly flinched as the memory of Optimus’ and Jetfire’s demise played across his mind.

Loud cheering broke Sam out of his morose thoughts quick enough that he caught his son taking a bow after having beaten another challenger at DDR. It was one of the things that Alex had picked up from Bee and had turned out to be just as good as, if not better than his father.

A nearly inaudible sigh came from Sam’s lips as he wistfully stared at his son who was thoroughly enjoying his and James’ joint graduation party. Sam was doing his best to appear happy for his son, and a part of him truly was, but there was also a large part of him that wanted to deny the fact that his son was now completely grown and jumping into the adult world so quickly.

Just looking at his son, Sam could tell he wasn’t the little boy he’d carried around everywhere. At 6’ 5” Alex towered over many people, including Sam, and in his protoform which was an even 14’ it was Sam that had to be carried around.

A hand slipping into his brought Sam’s gaze to his husband, who tightened his hold on their joined hands before sweeping a comforting caress of lips across Sam’s own. He wordlessly followed Bee who led them back to their room. Sam knew they wouldn’t be missed for the rest of the party, having already given their congratulations and gifts to Alex and James.

They had barely gotten into their bedroom and closed the door before Sam was instantly on Bee, practically ripping clothes off and tossing them carelessly aside. Somehow they made it to the bed and Sam didn’t waste any time discarding the rest of their clothes, pushing Bee back to lay flat on the bed, and then straddling Bee’s hips.

After a few hasty seconds preparing himself with his spit-lubed fingers, Sam took hold of Bee’s cock and lined it up to his entrance, nearly slamming himself down onto it. The rough penetration only brought a slight sensation of burning, due to his body being used to Bee’s girth over eighteen years of marriage.

Setting a rapid pace, Sam’s breaths came in huge gasps that virtually shook his entire body. Sam’s dominant behavior didn’t faze Bee at all, the blonde haired male keeping his gaze on his husband as moans varying in volume left his mouth when Sam would clench down on his cock.

For some reason, Sam felt an overwhelming rush of emotions; devastation, delight, and desperation. Every time Bee’s member partly slid out and left him, Sam felt a bit like he was dying inside. This led to Sam crashing down on Bee’s erection with a type of frenzy, frantically trying to get Bee as deep inside of him as possible, wanting him to never leave. Neither of the two was going to be able to hold out long and a few minutes later when Sam’s muscles began to seize up in his orgasm, his channel’s tightening pulses drew out Bee’s own climax as well.

Instead of the normal contented warmth of afterglow that Sam usually experienced after sex, he was bombarded with sadness and despair. His little boy, who had come out of his own body and been the major part of his life for eighteen years, was leaving him and jumping into a world filled with danger and terror.

Sam’s heart broke a bit at that thought and tears began to course down his cheeks as sobs shook his frame.

Bee gently eased out of Sam and switched their positions, placing Sam beneath him and covering him completely, serving as a protective dome against the world as he tried his best to kiss away every single one of Sam’s tears.

Sam was somewhat startled when Bee reached out and softly stroked him back to hardness. Bee’s other hand combed through his hair and he began to whisper reassurances to the distressing thoughts that Sam suddenly realized he had been speaking out loud.

“It’ll be alright. I’m still here, I’ll always be here. I’ll be sure to keep him safe. It’ll be okay.”

His sobs decreasing to sniffles, Sam let out a soft and drawn out moan when Bee entered him once again, this time with all the tenderness and care that hadn’t been present for the first time. The first time had been Sam’s taking of pleasure as distraction, but this time it was about Bee’s giving of support and understanding.

Soothingly rocking within Sam, barely drawing back any if at all, Bee put all of his effort into constantly brushing against Sam’s prostate, sending jolts of pleasure throughout his husband’s body while he caressed and touched every part of Sam he could reach.

Sam nearly wept again as he realized they were reestablishing their bond, physically reminding the other that though their children would leave, they still had each other just as they always have and always will.

Bee’s calm rocking progressed into a long session of love making, both finally reaching their peak after about an hour filled with kissing, touching, and whispered declarations of love.

As his seed left his body and dribbled onto his stomach, Sam relaxed and enjoyed the feeling of Bee releasing his own ejaculate inside of him. Sighing in contentment and peace, Sam settled down into the covers and began to drift into sleep, relishing in one of his not-so-secret-from-his-husband pleasures, falling asleep with Bee still inside of him.

For the first time in more than a week, Sam’s dreams were nothing but pleasant.
