I've always thought it sounded more like a 'Dom Shledon' rather than a 'Don Sheldon.' It doesn't matter anyway, haha, we all know it's Tom Sneddon.

I know it's about Tom Sneddon...I just always hear it as Tom Sneddon instead of "D.S." LOL!

This.

I also have a very funny story about this.

Enter me clueless listening to the album. I think, "woah, this is a very artsy song for MJ, kinda like Smooth Criminal, yeah? good for him. but weird."

Many years go by.

MJ is charged.

The District Attorney is gleeful on TV and a song is playing in the background with the news report.

I swear I'm like "Dude, that rif sounds familiar..." and they start talking about how Michael wrote a song about this guy and then click, I'm all like, "OMG! That's wtf that was about?! LOL!"

Yeah, I really didn't know squat about MJ's personal life, once upon a time (celebs in general don't interest me).

lol that's funny. isn't it odd how things like this connect at the weirdest points in time?

i know some people don't like listening to the second cd in HIStory because of how angry he is but i LOVE it. he used his talent to diss everyone that had battered him down after the first circus and remained the most ~fly brotha on the planet while doing so.

Ditto. I loved those songs. theidolhands August 10 2009, 16:10:21 UTC
Then again, i was a pretty angry person myself. ALso, mad beats -- MAD. "2 Bad" and "Money" are still faves. "Tabloid Junkie" is catchy as Hell. He was entitled to be pissed.

I didn't listen that much at first, the first disc even less (because I thought "well I've heard most of this"), but I came to listen to it A LOT later!

Upon later listening, on a portable CD player, I caught "Smile" and I wasn't sure if I'd ever played the disc all the way to that piece. In my apartment I put it on the speakers so that I could really appreciate it. I would say, "He kills me softly" with that one. It became special. Slow songs generally didn't grab me that much, but his voice was amazing in that. Later of course, Jermaine would come to say what he ended up stating and I thought, "....wow. huh."
