I find "Bad" to be the most underrated album ever. EVER. DOn't get me wrong, I love Thriller and I LOVE Dangerous. But I love Bad the best. I like Bad beginning to end. I've been a huge fan since I was 7 or 8 and people always assumed Thriller is like the thing I pray to. But nope. I like Bad. Then Dangerous, then History (the second disc) and then Thriller and Off The Wall. I know many people disagree and that's cool. :)

Yep but that's not even why I like it. Every single song appeals to me. Not to mention that my name's Annie and Smooth Criminal is on it Mwahahhaa...but honestly, I love the songs so much. I have the original vinyl from 1987 and I play that record at least once a month and have been for so long now I'm surprised it's still alive. lol

...that commercial sounds pretty weird. I was BORN in 1991, a few months before Dangerous was released, so I can't help you there.

That sounds so familiar! Maybe we dreamt it?

I could do without the corny rap in "Jam" as well.

But I think I would agree with your assessment overall. I've been loving "Who Is It?" a lot lately for some reason.

well yeah, the rap in Jam is pretty corny too, but it's MUCH better than the rap in Black and White, it sounds like a CNN reporter trying to rap, awkward...

I've never paid attention to Dangerous with the expectation of "Remember the Time" and "Black and White" until after Michael's death. It wasn't my parents' favorite MJ album -- that would have been Off the Wall or Thriller -- so that practically explains my original ignorance of the album. But now that I've taken the time to listen to it over and over and over again, I have a new found appreciation of the album ( ... )

LOL, New Jack Swing is one of those things where us black people can only talk about it among other black people, because no one else will have any clue what we're talking about.

I was like, "Tony! Toni! Toné!, Old School Boyz II Men ... I'm giving you guys some mainstream groups to work off of. You know what, fuck it! I'm out."

If they don't know Tony! Toni! Tone! that's excusable. I would totally expect people(other than black folks or people who are really into R&B) to know about pre-I'll Make Love To You Boyz II Men though, Cooleyhighharmony(their first album) went Diamond back in 93. It's a shame how people of this generation don't know about older music, especially with all this stuff like downloading and the internet making it much easier to access. :(

I love the music videos for this album, especially for "In the Closet." Michael Jackson is dead sexy, and convincing at it. (Unlike his image for "Bad" which felt manufactured and a little desperate to me.) Mmm, that ponytail and undershirt combo!

I've always loved Heal the World and Black or White, and recently discovered the awesomeness that is Who Is It. Curiously, while I usually like Jackson's rock-flavored efforts (Billie Jean and Dirty Diana), there's something about his querulous delivery on Give In To Me that just doesn't seem to work, even though the song itself is very good. Considering how little I care for a lot of early 90's music, I consider "Dangerous" a pretty decent album.
