Welcome to 2012
It feels like the new year officially started for me today as I went back to work. As long as I’m not getting up for work I feel like nothing is official yet! So today is the 3rd of Jan, but let’s call it the start of the new year.
My NYE celebrations were great. After a debacle last year, our trusted venue came up trumps and got things back in order and we celebrated in style and brought in the new year with singing, dancing, dinner and drinks! Pretty much perfect if you ask me. 2012 will be a joy if it continues on like that.
I don’t make new year’s resolutions... I don’t keep them. Today at work however I further strengthened my resolve to not be the mouth piece for other people. I often find that people tell me all their work gripes or what they think should be happening within the office. I’ve come to realise over time that for some people I think the reason they do it is because they know that I will take umbrage and go try and sort things out. I’ve been quite good at not pushing other people’s barrows since I came to realise this, but I saw it in action again today and it has just reinforced my desire to not fight other people’s battles for them. So I strengthened a resolve, but I did not make a resolution! ;-)
I am very excited for tomorrow (and the coming weeks) to hear all the reviews and stories from Darren Criss’ debut on Broadway!! I really am keen to hear how big a success Darren is. (...without really trying! LOL) I was tearing up watching DanRad’s farewell speech. I would really loved to have seen his performance because although he will always be Harry to me, I think he’s wildly talented and far from a one trick pony and would love to have seen this additional string to his bow with my own eyes. Alas it was not to be, but thankfully he has had wonderful reviews for his performance! Here’s hoping ol’ DC gets good ones too. I’m sure he will. Of course I am hanging out for the return of Glee. I miss my show, but there are ways of keeping my interest up during this hiatus! :-D roll on Jan 17th (or 18th as the case may be here)
So here’s to a wonderful 2012 for one and all! May it be filled with love, happiness and passions... even if some of them stem from a fictional land!!
