I'm not pleased that this is the general protest response, which is why, although I feel strongly about the issue, I'm not going to be taking this action (although, like you I spend practically nil).

I'm more in favour of a targeted boycott, or petition; any dips will be wished away by the big companies or splained as evidence of piracy unless there is a statement of what you intended to buy, but didn't.

And even then, most people will just buy it the next month anyway.

The best action I've seen is a letter outlining what you would have spent, and on what - and then shown that instead you spent that money on products on independents and businesses that do not support SOPA/PIPA ( and let's not forget ACTA!)

I have files on MediaFire. I do not own the copyright on them - but, oh wait, my boyfriend does! (*grumble grumble* targeting file hosters is like bombing a train, because it's known to be used by individuals to smuggle in cigarettes and alcohol, and you can't be arsed doing targeted raids *grumble grumble*)
