Study tips

I passed the following out to my students last Friday. It's my attempt to boil active learning strategies onto a 1-page handout in the hopes that some of them adopt them. Thanks for the links! They were an interesting read. I'm a little skeptical that it's just a memory issue; the btilly guy in the first link says that there are some things you have to memorize, and some higher-level skills you have to acquire. The former without the latter is just trivia. The latter without the former disconnects from problem at hand. It's hard to tell exactly where my students are having trouble. Since we give them formula sheets on the exams, I thought it was the skills, but maybe they don't have a conceptual understanding of what the equations mean. Or maybe it isn't localized to one area.
