Orphan Black

I'm seeing this series pop up here and there and just saw the trailer and sneak peek. Is anyone watching this series? And if so, what grabs you? I'm curious enough to do the iTunes purchase, but would like a bit more info.

Oh my gosh, where do I start? I ADORE this show. It's got some things in common with Fringe, but without any of the elements that frustrated me with Fringe. Most of the characters are female, and in addition to the lead actress, who is shockingly good (she plays many of the characters), all the other actors are top notch. Her foster mom is played by Maria Doyle Kennedy, whom I adore from The Commitments and Queer As Folk (UK). Her foster brother is played by a gorgeous young actor I'd never seen before, and he's fantastic. (The character is gay and wonderful, and also not the only queer character.) There's also Art, an African American cop who is puzzling things out as the first season unfolds.

The show is a mystery, with a fast-moving pace, gripping storyline, very emotional notes, and so many characters that you find yourself rooting for. It's also very stylish and pretty to look at. There is basically nothing about this show I don't love. The main character (icon) is my current fictional crush object. :)

They had this great clip regarding the clones and it so sucked me in. The women were all so distinct from each other. I hoped it wasn't just a fluke of that particular clips. I'm happy to see that it's not.

The clones are such unique and wonderful characters, I keep forgetting they're all the same actress. Like, I really can't keep it in my head that they're not actually in the same room together. It's so cool!

I know I paused the clip to make certain it was the same actress. Then I watched it a couple of more times.

I adore fictional crushes! I want a new one.:)

I'm seeing a Orphan Black marathon. Yes indeedy. I love new series immersion therapy.:)
