What made the ghost think she WAS Jenny in the first place?

What if the real Jenny's ghost shows up?

That might work. Or perhaps Jenny doesn't show up in person, but the ghost hears her voice singing far off in the distance and realises that though Paige sounds close, she isn't the real Jenny after all now he can hear them singing together?

YES! This refines the idea perfectly! Oh, I knew picking people's brains would work. (LOL ( ... )

I'm so glad I could help. I'm not normally very good at brainstorming other people's plot problems, but houseboatonstyx had already paved the way with a very workable idea.

Regarding the problem of keeping it ambiguous, in real life, I am a total non-believer in the paranormal, but I'm perfectly happy to accept that ghosts (or dragons or fairies etc. etc.) are real in the context of a novel.

If you want to credit me (though I only refined houseboatonstyx 's idea) I would be delighted. Helen Hall and/or heleninwales is fine. :)
