So here's the thing. I want to grow my hair to classic length if I can. If I can.. I actually want it longer than that. So I'm fussy about my hair, what sort of brushes I use, how often it's brushed, not washing it every day, protecting it to the best of my ability ( Read more... )

You guys are so cute! Hairnets don't have to look like food service attire. Didn't they wear some pretty ones in Gone with the Wind? You could bead them!

MajorTom (above) has a good idea. The Ren Faires do sell snoods, but I know I've seen some patterns on Ravelry and you are good and fast enough that you could make a better one than you could buy.

Don't make subtle ones, though. I have a cream and a brown one and the brown one did get "cafeteria lady" comments, but the cream one hasn't. Teh cream one is also significantly more fancy, though.

Don't forget there are always the coifs that show up in renaissance festivals. They're useful for keeping your hair up and off your neck as well as being decorative.

You could do veils with circlet headbands and just look medieval. :) Loads of fun project potential there.
