This is amazing! I love how you've made Gruoch's story run as a parallel to Macbeth's with her as the tragic hero at the center this time. The eerie, ominous atmosphere all building up to madness feels very much like the play, too. But the difference in her place in society, available means of action, and everything with the resulting different motivations make it a fascinating new story in its own right.

I also liked the history notes at the end :D
