Correct me if I'm wrong but...

Henry VIII is Shakespeare's worst play. I challenge anyone to give me a great, if not memorable, quote from this play or any other redeeming feature.

I can certainly see why everyone claims he wrote this with John Fletcher.

Personally, I think Pericles is worse. I don't have any specific lines to cite from Henry VIII, but I like Katherine's death scene as well as the odd parallelism between Anne and Wolsey.

I saw a FANTASTIC production of Pericles in Chicago several years back. It's a somewhat surreal fantasy, and playing with that just makes it a lot of fun.

Really, if you want quotes about the Devil, Shakespeare and Marlowe are your go-to guys....

And Milton, for that matter. He gives Satan some damned good soliloquies.

ETA: Ack, no pun intended!

"a long farewell to all my greatness" springs to mind. (Disclosure: I haven't actually read the play.)

sorry -- I misread: you weren't challenging the memorability of the play after all. (But Wolsey's speech is supposed to be quite worthwhile, no?)

I never claimed I wrote it with John Fletcher!
