Here, help me decide.

(Well, not really. I'm mainly just writing this to put my thoughts in some sort of coherent form. I don't think I'm done looking at apartments yet, but I'm certainly in a better position to eat the deposit than I used to be.)

First: AAARGH, househunting. That thing that is bad enough even at your leisure, but certainly worse with any kind of time restraints. It's good though that though none of these options is perfect, they're all liveable-in - while totally unsuitable places can make for really hilarious anecdotes, other than that it's a painful waste of your time. >.< For a hilarious timewasting activity, you have to see this: http://terriblerealestateagentphotos.com/... )

We moved around a great deal when I was growing up, so I have learnt to loathe househunting, and to this day I regard home ownership with deep suspicion. I don't think it helps that I'm not really into homemaking or decorating or any of the things that women are expected to do with houses, so I don't view my living arrangements as an expression of my personality - more as "storage for all my crap, plus a kitchen and shitter into the bargain".

I had visited Terrible Real Estate Agent Photos previously, but the refresher was welcome :D

My co-workers made that exact same crack, thus proving that little changes depending on geography and culture! Rocksy became upset at the mention of the graveyard, even though I tried to sweeten the pot with the Mexican restaurant a few blocks away (in my never-ending bid to help her accept the inevitable). She wasn't having any.

I hope to find something workable, though I am putting in for the Apartment of Brick :)

I have been so desperate to move out lately that all of those sound amazing to me. D:

Personally I would probably choose a smaller space over a potentially unsafe walk, but I've been trying to free myself of stuff anyway.

Also, add me to the list of people you are friends with on LJ who live beside a cemetery! I personally really like it because any time I want to go for a walk, there's a large quiet space right next door. But then, I moved here young enough and have lived here long enough that it feels perfectly normal to me.

Hope whatever you decide works out awesomely!

I admire people who can free themselves of stuff (and I probably will get rid of some of my stuff, simply because I don't need it all), but I'm basically avaricious by nature. I am super into having things, what can I say D:

I'm not upset by cemeteries at all - but my friends don't find it the most appealing view ;) I tried to sweeten the blow by pointing out that there is a Mexican restaurant not far off (plus, the Apartment of Brick is still on a main drag), but no one was having any.

Me too! I'm still trying to make arrangements, but hopefully I'll find something workable :D
