So I've read some books in the past week, and because I'll read pretty much anything these all happened to be romances and X-chan and I were talking about things we hate in romance novels, which inspired my curmudgeonliness here. I think it was a combination of a.) desperately hoping that it would somehow redeem itself, and b.) dogged persistence. Once I start a book, by God, I will finish it! (This approach has yet to work on me with Three Kingdoms, but I hope to manage it someday.)

I may need to read 50 Shades of Grey sometime (for dissection here, of course)...

Some of the 50 Shades of Grey sex scenes got the weepingcock treatment, if that tells you anything. (I cannot be responsible for any regrettable, but unavoidable, eye-melting as a result of visiting that community.)

No wonder, if Publishers Weekly is spot-on: "Fenn sets her romance-heavy but passionless debut in a vast and ancient aerial city that inexplicably evokes very little sense of wonder."

I figure if I'm going to suffer from learning how neurotic straight people are, I might as well entertain others :D

Also, I'm not good at that many things, so by God I'm going to be MAGNIFICENT at the few things I am good at!
