This has been the Week from Hell, culminating in seven hours at work today. On the plus side: it's Presidents Day weekend, so I don't have to work Monday, meaning I actually have a two-day weekend!!!! omg, and tomorrow I dine wherever is reasonably priced in Bloomington

I quit smoking once and it took two weeks of teaching to drive me right back to it. Honey and I both quit again six years ago, and there are still times I'd like to have a cigarette.

I am impressed at your restraint. If I had to teach, I'd probably cave within an hour, I reckon.

I've heard it said that one is only ever an ex-smoker. The older I get, the more I believe it.

It's definitely the truth. I will never respond to cigarettes the same way I did before I started smoking. Some part of my brain will always remember that addicting reinforcement of smoking and will respond to that.

My own default tends to be OMG EVERYTHING IS SO STRESSFUL, I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED A CIGARETTE~

Then I remember that my grandmother passed away from COPD last year and that makes me think better of it.
