LOL-MART SUCKS. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to order a copy of my birth certificate (the original is somewhere in the house, but we can't find it; if it turns up, great, if not, I have a certified copy), so I can now visit all the temp agencies. :D Seriously, I am getting very tired of having to smile and be friendly all the goddamn ( Read more... )

I like them too--but I think they're a lot better when they're cooked first. ^_-

Yay! :D Glad to hear you like the idea. And FWIW, I used Costco frozen scallops because I am cheap and didn't want to shell out the $$$ for fresh scallops when I'm still in experimental stage with those things. They turned out yummy anyway. :)

Fresh scallops are delicious, but nobody has that kind of money lying around. D: Unfortunately, we've had no luck with scallops here; the 'Mart only carries the tiny kind that magically transform into rubber when exposed to heat, and everything we've bought at the Schnucks in Newburgh (next town over) has been tainted in some way. Still, we haven't given up hope that one of the Evansville Schnucks may have some. :9

Major bummer! I have tried the tiny scallops. They work really well with hotpot because you cook them so little that they don't have a chance to turn into rubber. XD

It's Indiana. The only kind of fresh fish you can hope for is fiddlers, and they're only any good if you fry them up. XD

Mmm, tiny scallop hotpot. That might be worth a shot.
