I've been on this Alexander the Great kick, which is okay with me on account of Eugene Borza is so totally God. You know, most people think of him as a Greek general, but he wasn't; he was Macedonian, which is a little different. AHAHAHAH!! Modern Greeks DO consider Macedonia to be Greek because that's what they were taught in schools. I think it's a Greek pride kind of thing. There's still arguements over whether or not Macedonia IS actually Greek or not. Those who ARE Madedonian generally say no, those who are Greek generally say yes. But, I think all the Greek government wants is for Macedonia to change it's name since Greece DOES have a province known as Macedonia.

I think the Greek people consider it Greek BECAUSE of the fact that the Macedonia rulers DID emulate Greece. There's a part of me that also believes that the Greek nationalists just want to have historical credit for Alexander the Great. Course, I think they already have it. HEH!

And, really now, who wouldn't want to take historical credit for Alexander the Great?
