I am shocked that she died in a skiing accident. She seemed so vital ( Read more... )

I'm sad she's gone, I really liked her shapeliness and her physicality as an actress, she always impressed me as someone who avoided being coy.

She had an intelligence. I just watched "Patty Hearst" last week, interesting role, her breakthrough. I will go back and watch more.

Reading her obituary, I see how much she has been involved in theater, and a little bit about how freeing it was for her to live in New York where she could be relatively anonymous.

Mostly I am sad for her family.

i always thought she seemed really classy, and she did a lot of good work for amfar. i saw the initial report of her accident, and it really didn't seem like a big deal, but then i was surprised to see she'd ended up in critical condition, and shocked to see that she'd died.

very sad :-(

I had the same progression. I heard all those things with disbelief. On the purely subjective level, I have been working out and thinking about how much weight I might lose to start skiing again. So Natasha Richardson's simple accident is telling.

I didn't know she advocated for AMFAR-that's great, though it puts her a little to the right of her mother (but not "on the right").

i actually just watched her not that long ago as a guest judge on Top Chef... she was hosting a big AmFar benefit, and the contestants were catering it. i wasn't aware of her involvement before that, but apparently she's done a lot for the group.

I am feeling this loss a bit myself. I worked in a film with her mother, where my character roughs up her character physically. She spent a good amount of time giving me acting tips.

What movie was that? I really admire Vanessa Redgrave- it's nice to hear that she helped you out (as your character roughs her up).

There's something out of synch when the child dies before the parent. And these actresses have had so much screen time, we feel we know them. You do, from that one job.
