"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when my fear is gone I will turn and face fear's path, and only I will remain."
~ Frank Herbert. 'Dune'

No wonder))) Herbert's books are all scarily philosophic and he likes mixing various religious and philosophic stuff)))

Would that be okay if I friended you?

I'm commenting here because this quote is one of my all-timea favorites.
I even random;y quote is to random people)

I loved that scene and the concept.

I admit I've only read the first three books, but they had left a very long-lasting impression. The setting is very unusual. The Spice, sand, messiah...

Of course! *goes to friend back*
OH YES!!! I actually recite it to myself sometimes when I'm afraid of smth. Like planes. It helps. Then again, maybe it's just my strong faith in it. ;)))
I read the first 4 and a half books, I'd say. Admittedly, the series goes a bit downhill after the first trilogy. I did like the 4th book for all its insanity, but then it just became way too convoluted.

The ones written by his son are reportedly much worse))
I have, but not much. Only Lord of Light, Lord Demon and the ones he co-wrote with Sheckley. :) I keep planning to read more, though)
