Thanks to all who added me to their 'friends' list and commented on my first entry. I didn't notice the 'comments' bit for a while but I'll get it all figured out soon

Born Slippy! I love that song! I have the CD with a number of different versions of the song on it. It was hard to get a hold of because it is an import here in the US.
I have admired all of the music that is referred to on the message board. Siouxsie & the Banshees for example.
Hiya! You have exquisite taste in music:) I have quite a few American friends and my father, 'wicked step-mom' & brother live in WA but most 'British' music seems to be a mystery to them all except, of course, for the dinosaur rock bands like Pink Floyd etc... or punk bands like the Pistols.
I listen to all types of music except country western and free form jazz. Ambient and Electronica being the love of my musical life. That puts me in the minority here is Kansas.
I grew up with Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull because that is what my father listened to. Then in the late 80s he got into New Age. I think the early ambient works of Pink Floyd plus dad's New Age music is what influenced my love of ambient music. Dad also had Kraftwerk and Cabaret Voltaire, but it was really The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy that introduced me to Electronica in the mid 90s.
Then I met Melissa, all she listened to was pop music. She did help me discover World Music (Latin, African and Arab mostly). I introduced her to Brian Eno and Massive Attack. Now she likes to dance to Arab/Electronica fusion.
Then there is my love of Belle and Sebastian, but that is a whole post in itself.
I hope I didn't bore you, I love to talk about music.
