New Smithson!

Do college students even have CDs anymore? Probably not, but clicking around on iTunes just isn't as strong a visual. Also, should I have followed the mention of rocksteady with a line about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Nah, the CD's are good. Gemma has aspirations towards Old School-dom, or at least the appearance thereof; she probably has entertained the notion of having an all-vinyl collection more for the bragging rights inherent in such a collection than an actual love of the medium, but got impatient with the idea when she realized how limited a selection her choice would afford. She's probably gravitated to discs as a compromise position.

Yeah, Scooter's the one with the vinyl collection. No question there.

Dantalian's Chariot "Madman Running Through the Fields" is still the song I think Miki should phone in.

Man, Cat Soup. That takes me back to high school. I watched that movie so many times.

Also, if it's not too insane to comment about your column over here, I'm having a very similar response to Apocalypse Nerd as you are, although I kind of get the sense that Pete Bagge might not have any more of a clear understanding of where the strip is supposed to be going than you do. I just wish Bagge would do an all-"Founding Fathers Funnies" comic.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did; I get the sense from reading them that the Founding Fathers Funnies are a lot more interesting and fun for Bagge than the main story. The latest one was a little dry, though.

It's very much like similar articles I've seen many times before: it's a little dangerous to be a cyclist on the roads with big cars and angry drivers.

This book is AWESOME. Way better than Secret Comics Japan (although SCJ is good too). Looking back, I have no idea how the publication was put together... hmm, it'd be interesting to interview the editors...
