Hugh is an amazing person who is his own personal trinty;
First there is THE HUGH a man who can come in and add to the party already going on or start one afresh just by the sheer power of his sense of humor, and genuine caring for others, Then there is the thinking Hugh, he can speak athoriatively on a subject and leave you actually glad for his time and analysi of a situation, Finally there is the personal Hugh, a man who bears great waves, many tsuami sized, against his own personal shores and survives them.
I am blessed to have known each of them at various times through the years and am proud to have him for a friend.

I have been blessed to have Hugh in my life. I am grateful and proud to call him cousin and friend. I love him very much and can't wait to see what he gets into next.

Hugh is a sweet man, and one of the best things about him is that he'll listen to you when you tell him something, and mull it over. I also love the fact that he shares interesting facts with his friends, and is cheerful despite what I know is a difficult to handle depression. I am glad I know him.

Like regalpewter, I've seen several sides to Hugh that may not always be apparent to those who know him simply as "that guy from the Internet".

Certainly, one knows when Hugh has entered the room... a booming voice and a laugh that rattles mountains. As a mutual friend has noted, he plays well to a large room.

What not everyone might know, though, is that if one can get him one-on-one, Hugh **listens** with his whole being. There is an astonishing core of stillness in him that most people merely interpret as expansive warmth. I've seen it, though, and the overabundant exuberance doesn't fool me.

The man cares. That's no mean feat in a noisy world.

I wish there were opportunities for more one-on-one time for me with Hugh. I know, however, that I'll have to take my place in the queue.
