Love for Christmas

Dec 21, 2009 09:02

So, I want to do something nice for people and I'm short of money but have some time on my hands.  Thus I propose a love post.

Here's the deal: You post a comment with somebody's name in it if they don't already have a thread started. Then you reply to that comment with something you love about them. Then scroll through the comments to see if you ( Read more... )

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Gary yet! The man who is responsible for Idol and thus almost my entire f-list deserves praise, praise and more praise. Or at least some cookies. I'm glad he's a friend and much as I love Idol, if I had to choose between his friendship and the contest, he'd win every time.

I love how Gary is willing to put himself through the fun of maintaining Idol and showcasing all these fantastic writers! He's a good guy. :D

I think most of us probably have no idea how much work he puts in behind the scenes of Idol, and it takes a special person to do all that (and put up with the whining and drama that happens both publicly and privately) so that all of us can have this wonderful forum to grow and display our writing in.

He's the Boss. Well Springsteen's the Boss but Gary rocks too! (See what I did there?) lol

I feel very fortunate to have run across Idol and thank Gary for that. And he's one of the nicest, most fair and open Mods I've met in a LJ community.

Gary is a great guy. He always has the back of those he calls friend, and you will never meet a more honest, loyal friend. He's sweet, funny, and despite horrible taste in football teams, he keeps me around for some reason. ;)

Oh I thought of putting Gary up here but I didn't think he'd want a blind hippie chick saying anything nice about him. I can always count on a kick or a crack about blindness from him. What more can a friend ask for? Huggles Gary!

Gary does an amazing job at running a huge competition community so smoothly, and at bringing so many divergent personalities together.

Oh how shall I enumerate all the ways I adore Gary the Reality-Loving Hippie Kicker?

I shall start with Idol and dedication, and I shall end with kindness and wicked sense of humor.

Much love to Gary: he is amazing.

Gary has saved my life.

No, I never met him but LJ Idol has really changed me in so many ways, (IRL too) for the better.

I know he must work hard on Idol and I admire that he came up with this idea AND continues it. If he gets tired of it, he never says. So many people have good ideas and give up after awhile.

Yes, Thanks to Gary. I can't say enough.

I love Gary to bits. I think if he lived closer to me we'd probably get in trouble and end up having to be bailed out of jail :)

Despite his misguidedness regarding football teams, I have total respect for the dude. Having watched last season and participating this one, I can see how much work he puts into it... into creating such a wonderful place that brings so many fantastic people together. Thanks Gary!

I love Gary's sense of humor, and his ability to empathize with others while still keeping the big picture in mind. I also respect him not just for the inspiration and the hard work that goes into Idol, but for the fact that he keeps it up no matter what's going on in his life - and he never lets that stuff creep into the competition. He is always fair, always upbeat, and always kind.
