I've done yoga before. It's good for the most part but it makes my feet cramp up.
I love being in a large body of water. Last summer our pool was closed nearly all the time. I'm hoping it's different this year. I need to go get good sunscreen though since I'm not supposed to be getting much sun on my face for the laser treatments.
And now that the hair is shorter that'll be less of a hassle in the pool too. ;)
It feels, so far, like the dr we found is willing to listen and believe me.
Sitting is fine on my lower back, as long as I have back support. Standing, walking, laying on my back .. all cause pain. I generally sleep on my side since it hurts less.
When my sciatica was at its very very worse, I found that lying half on my side, half on my belly, with one leg bent, was the only way I could sleep without being drugged beyond comprehension. Curling up in a fetal position also helps really well, because then I can just pour myself off the side of the bed and stretch carefully. Would that work for you at all?
Also, have your doctors discussed posture? For some people, sitting ramrod straight makes it hurt more, and for some, gentle slouching is ideal. I assume you don't have lordosis (aka swayback).
Personally, I have found that gently crunching my abdominal muscles while sitting or standing straight upright can help strengthen my lower back muscles. It falls under isometric exercise. Do you think you could try that?
Oh! Also, have you tried topical magnesium oil spray? You rub it in to the painful spots. I get mine from Swanson Vitamins online and it works quite well...
I am fighting the docs cause the only thing that remotely helps my back is Vicodin and that barely makes me able to work. And because its regulated, its a total pain to get the script, so I make it last as long as possible.
Yeah, I'm going to be really picky about taking pills. I want to check out side effects and such because I'd rather not have the side effects be worse than what they're supposed to help.
Lemme know if you want to run a double check on any potential meds. I'm almost a walking pharmacology text book. And I own software that crosschecks medication interactions and potential stacking side effects.
I understand the whole 'broken' thing, believe me.
I am so glad, however, that you are going to get 'fixed.' And that once that is done, you can take further steps to not be in pain physically anymore...
And as to the other stuff...I'm sorry. There's always a risk in being honest cos sometimes, it has a person reeling and they need time to process. I hope that in the end, this person will come back to you. It might take some time but your friendship might be stronger than you think right now.
Not being in pain would be so cool ... I don't remember when I wasn't.
I don't know. It's been almost a month since I was honest about my actions .. and the person hasn't said anything. I don't know if I should approach them. I hope we do come back together but we'll see.
I'm sorry about the pain. I really really hope that it can be taken care of.
And a month isn't a long time, overall. Hah! Easy for ME to say, right? Umm...no. A month is fucking agony. But. Perhaps, given some more time (I like the magic 3 month mark, myself), this person might come to you and want to talk.
