I wish I could get away from work - but I can't, or I'd pop up to London from Oxford in a heartbeat (well, a bus, actually!)

Hope you have a fab trip - and just remember, we drive on the left over here!

Oh I will definitely have to figure out the public transport. The thought of driving on the left boggles my mind and makes me dizzy. If it looks like we may be headed towards Oxford I'll definitely let you know.

Heh - you'll get used to it. I don't recommend trying to cross London's roads except at designated crossing points - because if you forget we drive on the left, you might get run down!

Whoo-hoo, Europe! Not only that, but Europe with locals to show you around, and put you up for free! You're going to have a fantastic time.

Don't worry about public transit in London. Your friend will be able to tell you the best way to get to her place, and the ticket machines for trains and subways are easy to figure out. (They have instructions in English!) Not only that, but Londoners are usually very willing to help out a confused tourist, and the major transit centers have information booths staffed with people whose job is to answer your questions. You'll do fine!
