I have eldest home now, tucked up in bed, after picking her up from airport at ungodly hour this morning. This of course meant that for nearly 3 hours I've been listening to the reports on the radio about the Virginia Tech events ( Read more... )

Can't think straight about it, would possibly offend a few if I said what I really thought.

I feel the same way. I'm desperately sorry for the families, desperately sorry about lives cut short but in a society that has so many guns held 'as a right' I'm more amazed there isn't more than this.

And there's part of me that's whispering that in a certain nation there's people - including children- who face that horror and worse every day. *sigh*
