I'm terribly tempted to write a paranormal romance with a female main character who sleeps around. That's just Not Done. But if James Bond can get away with it, why can't I?

Ooooh, spy books. :D I have to admit that I haaaaaaaate Willig's work, but it might be mostly because I feel like her history is terrible, and it's not written well enough for me to overlook it.

Thus is the problem with "my" period being mid-18c through early 19c.

But another spy book (with sometimes slightly embarrassing sex scenes) and a great heroine who is often totally unlikable, there's C.E. Murphy's The Queen's Bastard (if you haven't read it of course!). I'm rereading it now and wondering if I can app the main character for summer. :D There's also a sequel I haven't read yet. It's an AU!Europe during the Reformation, and the Queen of the title is an AU!Elizabeth. I enjoy it. :D
