I can totally see where you're coming from. Also because I think it's a major problem of a lot of shows and not only in US. And it lacks in reality in a multicultural society. I think we never saw an Asian on SPN, you know -_- ? As for the women on the show... It's not that I'm worried that they might be love interests because even if they were that's totally normal. It's just that they hardly write good female characters on this show. Both Ruby and Bela annoyed me, as did Jo. The only one I really loved was Ellen. So basically I'm more happy when they introduce new male characters, because they usally write them good **
I want the most bad ass, knowledgeable person on the subject to be a little old lady on a bench with a battered bible or something.
I'd love that! Especially if the old lady was nice to Dean like the lovely Missouri was XDDDD
I think there was that one guy way back in S1? For like half a second? Lol, idk.

It's not so much the love interest thing as how awkward it tends to come off as sometimes. I can't put my finger on it, but it just makes me cringe. I want a female Henderson to show up or something; a female character doesn't have to be a love interest of Sam or Dean's (though that can work too) to be relevant to the plot, you know? But the thing is it seems like they never know what to do with some female charcters beyond that; like they'd decided first that they want a girl on there, and then tried to develop a character to fil that void. I dont know; I'm probably not explaining myself very well but I can't seem to articulate what I mean at the moment.
I know what you mean. That was the 2nd reason why I was happy about Lilith (the first was that I'm convicenced that a show like SPN needs a character that can be identified as The Villain, otherwise it gets too episodic)... It would be great if they managed to create a new recurring female character that has a purpose indeed, instead of just hanging around without a real reason when the writers see that for the uptenth time the viewers are not happy to see them as love interests.
Mara, the lawyer from 2.19 who didn't seem to fal for Dean's charm was quite interesting ;)

*nods* Exactly. As much as I love the MotW thing, there does need to be a formidable villain who surpasses them all; a sort of constant shadow over the boys. And Lilith didn't live up to that, sadly. Which sucks, because I was hoping she would.

I think what's really going is not so much a 'Sam and Dean can't have love interests ever' thing but a matter of 'you're doing it wrong.' (And that sounds way more entitled than I meant it to.) It's not the love interest thing that gets me - hell, a love interest is a part of every story, in varying degrees - it's

I have no idea what Missouri's problem was, lol.
