Been awhile. So, wassup y'all?
Most recent celebrity sighting: saw Milo Ventimiglia at the Costco in Marina Del Rey.
I've been drifting in and out of The Flash, but I remain as ever a huge fan of Barry/Iris, so Barry's song for Iris in the musical episode made me very happy. Pasek and Paul hit it out of the park. In La La Land, they were shackled by Justin Hurwitz's meh music, but when they're in charge of both music and lyrics, a la Dear Evan Hansen, they create some beautiful work. Barrowman was Barrowman (i.e., a ham), Jesse L. Martin can sing me to sleep anytime, I haven't heard Victor Garber
sing in ages, Carlos Valdes sounded great, and JEREMY JORDAN (
that voice).
Speaking of musicals, tickets to Hamilton at the Pantages Theatre go on sale April 30. I'm excited, but resigned. I'll certainly try to come up with something, but I have a feeling they will sell out instantaneously.
Sports: After correctly picking 3 of the 4 teams in the Final Four in one of my brackets, I'm currently in the 100th percentile on ESPN's Tournament Challenge (which I know isn't quite accurate, but I guess they round up when you're over 99.5%). I was in the top 20 on the Pardon the Interruption group and on the first page of brackets on the Around the Horn group, but I dropped a bit on Friday. It's cool to still be within the top 1% overall and in the Pardon the Interruption and Around the Horn bracket groups, though! We'll see how I fare after the Final Four. I finished in the top 2% last year after picking Villanova to win, so hopefully I'll beat that result.
The Kings aren't going to make the playoffs this season. Ah, my favorite losers. I'm really curious/worried about who Vegas is going to poach from the rest of the league.
I'm going to be a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding in May. Funtimes.
Hmm, speaking of Pasek and Paul, gotta post a few Broadway-related videos in the next post.
