The ending worked for me... gave me a shiver at the deliberate choice to cut off what's real for what's artificial.

This was sort of romantic yet creepy but still bittersweet. Romantic because Urahara sort of got the guy, creepy because he made the guy and chose his personality and bittersweet because he really wanted the real Isshin to want him like the Mod soul did.

This was so not where I expected you to take this, but it makes me love it all the more. Definitely more on the realistic side and more in tune with your Kisuke/Isshin series as a whole.

You really have a way with the ending lines too. You somehow use that one or 2 sentences to sum up the "moral" of the story.

This was very bittersweet and even a little depressing to see Kisuke so hurt that he didn't even have the energy to take advantage of a creation he built solely for himself.

I felt it really fit with the tone of your series, but as it's your creation if you feel it's necessary to revisit or revise it, I will gladly read more Urahara/Isshin. =D
