This story is so intimate and heart breaking. I loved the ending with both boys still seeming a little scared and unsure, but happy.

Thank you very much! I have a real love for writing (and reading about) situations and relationships that are in that slightly terrifying, awkward space of transition, where things are shifting and changing and the characters don't quite know how to act or what it'll all mean for the future. This story was kind of an exercise into dragging that moment out, seeing how long it could take before they settled into this new dynamic between them. And I liked dabbling in writing late season fic where they haven't been together before, where this is the beginning of them being romantically involved, not the culmination of years of UST, just a sudden shift that leaves both of them off balance for a while.
