That was sweet and a little sad, but, as Harry rightly points out, it's close enough, and that's just life, isn't it? There is joy to be found, even in the face of loss and compromise.

I've missed this verse of yours and am glad to see you come back to it so beautifully.

You found the sad! Here I was, thinking that by my standards, this chapter was sugary sweet. :D

Of course there had to be a moment or two where Harry and the rest are conscious of who's not there, of what they've lost. It's over a year since the battle, but it's still very much in the immediate past. Harry wouldn't be the only one thinking back to his seventeenth birthday, which was right before everything turned very ugly indeed.

Not long now, just one or two chapters to go, I think. When they actually get written will depend on fest and RL commitments.

That was so cute! It totally made my horrid day worth it.
I probably should go back and read the chapter or two before this, because I don't really remember what happened, but I really need to read about 40 pages in my history text before tomorrow. (I had to look up a word online and then somehow I was checking my flist. Wonder how that happened...)

Anyways, thanks for the update! I loved Harry's kiss with George. ^_^

Ugh, the internet is like a black hole that sucks you in and refuses to let go. RL just cannot compare.

I loved that bit, too. I think George was sure Harry would chicken out and back off, right up until the moment just before he kissed him. The things alcohol does to people!

You have been in luck! Up until late yesterday evening, I wasn't even sure I'd finish this one. I'd already made one abortive attempt to write this chapter about a month ago, and I wasn't too hopeful that this would turn out any better. As it is, I like a lot about it. :)
