I said bugger near my Grandad when I was a kid and got very upset when I got in trouble. I didn't think it was a real word and insisted I'd made it up! And I thought I had. My brother was "bugging" me and generally being a pest so I told him to "stop being a little bugger" and I got in trouble!
So unfortunate - I not only inadvertantly swore, I used the curse in a grammatically correct way!
Harry doesn't speak baby-talk? No wonder he's screwed up. Ron is gorgeous. He makes a great uncle. That is not an excuse for you to have Harry angst over depriving him of the chance to have children.

I think Harry *tries* to speak baby talk (when no one else is around to make fun of him) but feels like a bit of an idiot when he does it. It just doesn't come naturally to him. He loves his godson, and he cuddles him, and does everything he should do for him. I'd imagine he's even changed the odd nappy!

Oh you know Harry! Of course he's going to try and angst! But I don't know if I'll write about it. Ron's very much of the 'corrupt them, spoil them, give them sugar, give them back' school of thought. He *adores* being an uncle, but he's not ready to be a father any time in the foreseeable future.
It makes the cutest picture in my head! I can imagine him getting his hair pulled a lot. My mum has carroty red hair, and whenever she holds a baby they *always* pull it! It's as attractive as dangly earrings or bright necklaces.
*giggles at you pretending to be all disapproving*
It's so IC for him to be 'corrupting' Teddy like that.
I can just imagine Bill and Charlie doing something similar to Ron, and before that Fabian and Gideon doing it to Bill and Charlie. It's a bit of a family tradition, I think!
It's always made me sad to imagine Harry as an infant crying and wanting to be held and Aunt Petunia neglecting him.
The sad thing is, Harry probably only cried for a little while. Neglected babies who don't get held often just shut down a bit, and don't cry when something's wrong because there's no point - they know they don't get help and comfort when they do.

I'm reminded of my much older brother when I was four: "I'll give you 10p if you'll say "bugger" to Mum ..."
