Dad might be coming home this weekend. Went and visited him this afternoon, and he's doing, apparently, so much better, even to mum. (Of course, the last time I saw him, she was helping him down the stairs to leave, and he looked like death on a triscuit. :|) Eating solid food now, things seem to be in working order... Now, while Malory's Le Morte Darthur is hilarious, it can also be pretty dense and aggravating if get bogged down in all that Middle English. Like I've said, though, if you're gonna read it, you need to do it that way, the right way, rather than reading a translated version. However, if you want a good story that is readable and understandable and very well-written and actually quite funny at times, I'd suggest T.H. White's The Once and Future King. It might be better as an introduction to the legend overall, unless you're just super hardcore/enjoy the unintentional crack that Malory can be.
