i've been meaning to post an extensive rant comment to this post, but things keep distracting too much to forget about all clever arguments but one: Preston's kids. children who know so much more about the emotional side than their father, so that they aren't just more mature than him but can manipulate him easily. the boy seems particularly scary - if anyone in the movie is good at wearing masks, it's him.
