I get days that are a bit similar. Where everything is a bit "meh" at best and "goddmanitihtateeverythingmyselfthemost" at worst.
The one thing that sometimes helps me get through such a phase is working at making myself see that my feelings in those moments aren't real.
They're not the true essence of what makes me who I am....and as such, they deserve to be ignored.
Some days, emotions are the wise counsellors that lead us on the right path....and on some days, they're about as reliable as an emo teenager smack in middle of puberty.
And if I might quote something of yours, you DO "meet the minimum standards for a decent human being."
Hell, if I had to make a pick with whom to be stranded on a lonely island, you or Mitt Romney, I would DEFINITELY pick you as an island mate.
It's not being perfect 24/7 that makes people love / like / appreciate you....it's having a heart.
I can relate to your confusion. If nothing is really wrong, what's really wrong? A lack of self-worth seems often to overcome me too. I would like to add, the symptoms you describe could partially be attributed to Seasonal Affective Disorder, common among those living closer to the poles. It is amazing what a difference it makes having so many dark hours each day.
I hope you can find the balance you need in life. That is all I strive for, yet it is impossible to achieve. I am so glad to be on the journey of self-exploration alongside you. You rock. Hang in there, and know that you are loved as you are!
Yeah, man, seasonal affective disorder. I've been having a lot of days like that lately, and I attribute it to the dark season. I'd love to help you get a light if you want. Your work schedule sets you up for an extra tough time since you spend most of the daylight hours indoors.
As a way of trying to feel a little better about myself, I've been acknowledging my daily accomplishments in as nonjudgmental of a way as I can. I have found this to be moderately helpful.
I still love you even when you feel crappy. Hang in there, dear. Love and hugs.

And you certainly do.
